CAN A NEW HOME FEEL CONTEMPORARY AND TIMELESS AT THE SAME TIME?
The Blandemar Residence embodies our commitment to crafting personalized, sustainable homes that reflect modern living standards. Nestled in a serene setting, this residential project combines luxury with eco-conscious design. The residence is tailored to meet the specific needs and preferences of its active owners. The home is an ambitious balance of site and program tucked away in the hills of central Virginia. The site presented a few key challenges that limited the overall area available for the new build site. To accommodate those limitations we crafted a sequence of spaces that flow along the ridge line of the hill at the heart of the site. The spaces within the interlocking volumes are configured for a carefeullyinternal life while always maintaining a strong visual and physical connection to the hardwood forest that surrounds the home.
The design integrates natural materials and energy-efficient technologies, including solar panels and high-performance insulation, to minimize environmental impact. Spacious interiors are enhanced by large windows that maximize natural light and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The open-plan layout fosters a sense of flow and connectivity throughout the home.
Outdoor living spaces, such as a landscaped garden and terrace, provide additional areas for relaxation and entertainment. The Nordic Serenity Residence is a perfect example of how contemporary design can harmoniously blend with sustainability, offering both comfort and environmental responsibility.
